On a recent visit to the hospital, he greeted the press and insisted on sitting up in a chair to chat.  He was known as a friendly man with a big heart, and his friends claimed that no one would ever now how many Arena people were helped out a little by Prairie Bill.  He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. John Olson, Verona; and Mrs. Gilbert Harrop, Mazomanie; a son, Roy, Arena; a brother, Theodore, Mazomanie; seven grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren.
