Предки Якоба - Фридриха. Часть III (англ, нем)

    Generation No. 5

     16. Jacob Hottmann, born Unknown in probably Hohenacker, Württemberg, Germany; died Abt. 13 Jan 1662 in Hohenacker, Württemberg, Germany222. He married 17. Catharina Bef. 1657.
     17. Catharina, born Unknown; died Aft. 02 Mar 1667.

    Notes for Jacob Hottmann:
There is no birth record for Jacob in the Hohenacker church books. Possibly he came from elsewhere, perhaps Winterbach. If he was a native of Hohenacker, there were only two Hottman couples having children during the period of his probable birth (1620-1640): Andreas and Anna, who had three identified sons, Georgius in 1631, Johannes in 1633 and another Johannes in 1636; and Hans, who had Johannes (1635) by Catharina, and by Barbara a Johannes (1628), Michael (1631) abd another Johannes (1643). The names of these children are consistent with the names of Jacob's children, but there is no provable connection. Hohenacker baptismal records for the period 1660-1700 were screened for instances where Jacob or his wife might have appeared as baptismal witnesses that might suggest a connection to the other Hottmanns, but no such instances were found.

Death, Hohenacker Evangelical church, Todten-Register von Hohenacker 1581-1808:
1662, den 13 January Jacob Hotman begraben worden.
[Note: this entry was actually written to the side next to where the 1661 entries begin; however, given the circumstances of the death of his last child, Georg, this death must have been in 1662. Jacob could not have died before September 1661.]

    Notes for Catharina:
No birth or death record for Catharina has surfaced, so we do not know her family name.

It is most peculiar that she is described in the death record of her daughter Catharina as the widow of Hottmann, considering that she had remarried Miller four years previous.

Marriage Notes for Jacob Hottmann and Catharina:
No record of their marriage appears in the Hohenacker church books.

There was apparently another Daniel Seybold, as yet not identified, as witnessed by this death record:

    Notes for Joannes (Hans) Schanbacher:
This Hans Schanbacher was usually described in Grunbach church records as "Hans Schanbacher auf dem Osterberg." Osterberg might refer to the vineyard adjacent to the present settlement of Osterhof, on the north edge of Grunbach. Other contemporaneous records describe individuals "auf dem Osterhof" as well.

Bp. 2 Aug 1620: Jörg [Georg] Schanbacher & Waldburga; Joannes [Johannes]; Bernhardt Palmer & Elisabeth, w/o Hans Raithle.
Death: 15 Mar 1666: starb in seinem Erlöser Jesu Christo Hanß Schanbacher auf dem Osterberg nach dem er wenige Tag Zweifels ehe an der Lungensucht gelegen; seines alters 47 Jahr [Hanß Schanbacher auf dem Osterberg died in his Savior Jesus Christ after a few uncertain days, of consumption, his age 47 years]

[life's little hour also ran out for Jerg [i.e., Georg] Schanbacher, citizen here and Weingärtner on the Osterberg, age 66 yers 3 months.]

    Notes for Anna:
Unfortunately, the surname of Anna's father is illegible in the marriage record. The probability is she was born in Grunbach between 1645 and 1655. Within that period, the Michaels having daughters named Anna include: Michael Xander (3 Jun 1654), Michael Rommel (5 Sep 1653), Michael Schätzle (20 Jun 1653), Michael Röthlin (6 Jan 1647) and Michael Knaus (4 Mar 1645). The probability is that one of these was her father, if he was also deceased by the time of her wedding to Jerg in 1674.

Marriage Notes for Georg Schanbacher and Anna:
Marriage, Grunbach Evangelical church, Ehebuch 1637-1728:
