The marriage was also reported in the Ehebuch of the Hohenacker Evangelical church:
    1686
Doica. 3. tertia vice sunt proclamati: Johann Hottmann, Jacob Hottmanns seel. gewesenen burgers und weingärtners alhir ehelicher Sohn, und Catharina, David Seybolden seel. gewesenen Rathsverwandten zu Grunbach hinderlassene Wittib. Children of Johannes Hottmann and Catharina Knaur are:
      i. Anna Barbara Hottmann112, born Abt. 12 Apr 1687 in Grunbach, Württemberg, Germany113,114; died 25 Dec 1690 in Grunbach, Württemberg, Germanys115

[NB: Barchet was a Geradstetten family, but records of the Barchets there do not include a Claus. This may be another name altogether.]
Death, Leuchbuch, Grunbach Evangelical church records:
25 Dec 1690. Anna Barbara, Hanß Hottmann's little daughter, age 3 years 8 months. Buried 26 Dec. [NB: DOB is then abt. Apr 1687. Did not find her bp. record. Makes her the firsborn of this family.]

ii. Elisabetha Hottmann116, born 17 Nov 1688 in Grunbach, Württemberg, Germany116; died Unknown.

    Notes for Elisabetha Hottmann:
    Baptism:
17 Nov 1688. Parents: Hanß Hottmann & ux. Catharina. Child: Elisabetha. Witnesses: Hanß Schä___hen? & Niclaus _____ ux. [uxor = wife]

A search of Grunbach Evangelical church records for marriage and death records pertaining to Elisabetha was without positive result. Perhaps she moved away.

iii. Anna Maria Hottmann117,118, born Abt. 06 Oct 1690 in Grunbach, Württemberg, Germany118; died 08 May 1771 in Grunbach, Württemberg, Germany119; married Melchior Zeyhr 14 May 1715 in Grunbach, Württemberg, Germany120; born Abt. 26 Jan 1682 in Grunbach, Württemberg, Germany121; died 28 Feb 1772 in Grunbach, Württemberg, Germany122.

Marriage Notes for Anna Hottmann and Melchior Zeyhr:
marriage record: 14 May 1715. Melchior Zeyhr, Weingärtner, son of Jacob Zeyhr, Weingärtner, & Anna Maria Hottmann, daughter of Hans Hottmann, Weingärtner.

4 iv. Johann (Hanß) Jacob Hottmann, born Abt. 16 Aug 1693 in Grunbach, Württemberg, Germany; died 23 Sep 1763 in Grunbach, Württemberg, Germany; married (1) Elisabetha Fischer 16 Jul 1720 in Grunbach, Wuerttemberg, Germany; married (2) Christina Straub 22 Sep 1735 in Geradstetten, Wuerttemberg, Germany; married (3) Maria Catharina 09 Nov 1751 in Grunbach, Württemberg, Germany.
      v. Johann Friederich Hottmann123,124, born Abt. 21 Feb 1696 in Grunbach, Württemberg, Germany124; died 17 Jul 1750 in Grunbach, Württemberg, Germany125; married (1) Regina Barbara Hermann 25 Aug 1722 in Grunbach, Wuerttemberg, Germany126; born Abt. 14 Apr 1702 in Grunbach, Württemberg, Germany127; died 13 Aug 1734 in Grunbach, Wuerttemberg, Germany128; married (2) Agnes Margaretha Hägelin 15 Feb 1735 in Grunbach, Württemberg, Germany129; born Unknown; died Unknown.

    Notes for Johann Friederich Hottmann:
    Baptism:
21 Feb 1696. Parents: Hanß Hottmann & ux. Catharina. Child: Johann Friderich. Witnesses: Jerg Xander, Schultheiß und Hanß Schätzle, des Gerichts, so dann [also] Christina, H. Jacob Fischers des Raths, uxor.

Death, Grunbach Evangelical church books, Catalogus Mortuorum 1728-1807:
    1750, No. 9:
    (Friday symbol) d. 17 Jul, 9:00 a.m.: A. Johann Friederich Hottmann, Bürger u. Weing., wurde in bed___lach von Grabnis gesunch?, 54 J. 4 M. 24 T, sepult. Dom. 8 p. Tr..
[Friday, 17 July, 9 a.m., the elder Johann Friederich Hottmann, citizen and vine dresser, (cause of death not sufficiently legible for an interpretation), age 54 years 4 months 24 days, buried on the Eighth Sunday after Trinity.]
[NB: The Friday symbol was erroneously entered; 17 July is the correct date, and it fell on a Tuesday in 1750. The Eighth Sunday after Trinity fell on 19 July in 1750. The stated age at death calculates to 21 February 1696, which is consistent with the baptismal record.]

The Grunbach Evangelical church books reflected no baptisms of children of Johann Friederich Hottmann and Regina Barbara Herrmann, so presumably they were childless.

The Johann Friederich Hottmann who married Christina Knödler is a different individual. That one was son of Michael Hottmann of Hohenacker. The Hohenacker Hottmanns were, as far as has been determined, unrelated.

    Notes for Agnes Margaretha Hägelin:
Possibly her family name was Hägele, and Hägelin was just the feminine form. Without corroborating documentation, it is not possible to tell for sure.

A search of Grunbach Evangelical church records for the period 1690-1825 failed to reveal a baptismal record for Agnes Margaretha. There was one couple, Hanß Jacob Hägele and Barbara Zeyhr, who were producing children in the 1680s and 1690s, but none by this name. Likewise, a search for a death record was unproductive.

Marriage Notes for Johann Hottmann and Agnes Hägelin:
Marriage, Grunbach Evangelical church, Catalogus Conjugatorum 1728-1807:
    1735, No.5

    Notes for Regina Barbara Hottmann:
    Baptism:
31 Jan 1701. Parents: Hanß Hottmann & ux. Catharina. Child: Regina Barbara. Witnesses: Jerg Xander, Schultheiß u. ___ , Hanß Schätzle, des Gerichts und Christina, Hanß Jacob Fischers des Raths ux.

Death, 31 May 1770: Regina Barbara, weil. Paul Schanbachers, B. u. Weingt. Wittwe; Morbus: Wassersucht; Aetas: 69 Jahr; Sepultura: d. 1 Jun. [Regina Barbara (Hottmann), widow of the late Paul (i.e., Pauly) Schanbacher, citizen and vine dresser, age 69 years, burial on 1 Jun.]
NB: Unusual that she did not remarry, and lived about 23 years as a widow.

    Notes for Pauly Schanbacher:
Although he was baptized Paulus, and appears in some records as Paul, he was generally known as Pauly.

Baptism, Grunbach Evangelical church, Taufbuch 1664-1728:

[Friday, 18 November about 6 p.m., Paulus Schanbacher, citizen and vine dresser; cause: acute fever and convulsions after 5 days; age 52 years 9 months 26 days. Buried on the 24th Sunday after Trinity.]
NB: the 24th Sunday after Trinity, the burial date, fell on 20 November 1746. The age at death calculates to a date of birth of 13 January 1694 Julian or 23 June 1694 Gregorian. Evidently the calculation was done without accounting for the 10 days lost in 1700 when calendar conversion took place in Württemberg.

Marriage Notes for Regina Hottmann and Pauly Schanbacher:
marriage record: 16 Jul 1720. Pauly Schanbacher (d. 18 Nov 1846), Weingärtner, son of Jerg Schanbacher, Weingärtner, & Regina Barbara Hottmann, daughter of Hanß Hottmann, Weingärtner.

[NB: The date of death was actually 23 March, per the death record. Although he appears in this record as Hannß Michael, other records invariably show him as Johann Michael.]]
Death, Grunbach Evangelical church, Catalogus Mortuorum, 1728-1807:
    1762, No. 11
    d. 23 Mart. Johann Mich. Hottmann, b. u. W., Morbus: Stekfluß. Aet. 58-5-14. Sep. d. 25 ej.

    Notes for Waldpurga Seybold:
No baptismal record could be found for Waldpurga in church books of Grunbach, Geradstetten, Buoch or Großheppach. Her parentage is established through the record of her marriage to Caspar Zeyhr, wherein it states she was the daughter of the late Bürgermeister Daniel Seybold. Her date of birth is loosely established through her death record (below), which puts her birth at about 1681. Her putative father's second wife, Anna Rupp, died shortly after the birth of their only child, Anna, in 1677. There must, then, have been a third wife who bore Waldpurga, but there is no record of such a marriage in either Grunbach, Geradstetten, Buoch or Großheppach records.

[NB: this helps to understand the term encountered in bp. records elsewhere, usually seen as "geh getauft." The description of the midwife's role in performing an emergency baptism is consistent with at least Catholic doctrine, and presumably Evangelical as well, i.e., in a life-threatening urgency, any baptized person can perform a baptism considered sacramentally valid. Thus the infant is redeemed from original sin and goes unstained to the Heavenly Father. "Geh" or "gah" appear to be the modern "jäh" or in dialect, "gäh," having he meaning of sudden or urgent.]
